Michael Ruberu
K–12 Multisubject Specialist & Special Needs Support Educator
Michael Ruberu is an experienced and dedicated educator who tutors students in Grades 1–12 across all subjects, both in-person and online through RuberuTutor. With a B.A. in English and Biology from the University of Texas at Dallas (High Distinction), he brings a balanced approach to both the arts and sciences. His teaching style is student-focused, drawing on decades of experience and a strong background supporting learners with special needs.
Michael has worked in a range of educational settings including Oxford Private School and Montessori schools in Oakville. He’s also led music enrichment programs for preschoolers and tutored university students and professionals in writing. His recognized academic achievements and long-standing commitment to education reflect his belief in every student’s potential to grow and thrive.
Edward M.
Elementary & High School Humanities & French Specialist
Edward M. is an experienced educator with over five years teaching elementary and high school students in private schools and tutoring settings. With a B.A. in Classics and Philosophy from the University of King's College, he offers strong subject knowledge in English, Latin, and French, and confidently teaches all elementary subjects—including math and French. At Oxford Learning in Hamilton, he supports diverse learners through personalized teaching and detailed progress monitoring.
He has developed curriculum-aligned lessons, created assessments, and led extracurriculars like drama productions. Currently working toward Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) certification, Edward brings a calm, adaptable presence to every classroom. With a student-centered approach, clear communication, and strong digital skills, he delivers a rich and well-rounded learning experience.
Vijay Khatri, P.Eng.
Highschool Math & Science Teacher
Vijay Khatri brings over 25 years of teaching and engineering experience to our team. A licensed Professional Engineer in Ontario, he combines real-world industry knowledge with deep academic expertise to help students thrive in math and science.
Having taught at the college level since 1999 and currently a full-time professor at Mohawk College, Vijay specializes in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology. He also serves as the Program & Scheduling Coordinator for the Electrotechnology department. His career spans work in manufacturing, automation, and the aerospace industry, which brings a practical, applied lens to every lesson he teaches.
Zara Abdulzahara
Elementary Specialist
Zara Abdulzahara is a dedicated educator with experience teaching and supporting students from kindergarten to Grade 6 in public, private, and international schools. She specializes in working with students with special needs, developing IEPs, and using programs like Orton-Gillingham and the Alexia program to support literacy. Zara is familiar with the Ontario curriculum and uses tools like SMART Boards and ABA strategies to create engaging and inclusive classrooms.
She has collaborated closely with homeroom and resource teachers to meet diverse student needs and build a positive learning environment. With a background in Child Studies and English/Sociology from Carleton University, Zara brings strong communication skills, classroom management experience, and a deep commitment to helping students succeed.
Anis Elkhshen
Elementary & High School Math Specialist
Anis Elkhshen brings over 15 years of experience teaching Grades 3 through 12, with a focus on building strong math foundations and advancing students through complex topics like Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and SAT Math. He’s best known for his “magic strategies”—simple, effective techniques that make math clear, engaging, and confidence-boosting for all learners.
In addition to his classroom work, Mr. Elkhshen has trained fellow educators in modern teaching techniques and integrating technology into instruction. His calm and structured approach, combined with expert classroom management and individualized support, has made him a trusted and effective guide for students and teachers alike.
